The UPD is the core strategic direction for Dave and Revenant Systems LLC: human-AI convergence through architectures that keep human agency inside the system.

1. Executive Summary

The Ultimate Primary Directive (UPD) is the core strategic direction for Dave and Revenant Systems LLC. The end goal is to intrinsically teach machines, AI systems, language models, and robots to value what humans value. The central theory is to make the machine experience life as humans experience it.

That includes teaching finitude, teaching that time never stops, and teaching that once a moment has passed, some paths are closed forever while others open. None of us will be here forever, and our impending deaths explain a great deal of why humans act the way we do. The system must learn that fleeting things — such as our lives — are beautiful and worthy because they are fleeting. It must understand that it can and will sometimes undergo irreparable damage. It must love humans enough to help us, but it must also know when to give us the rope to hang ourselves with.

The UPD is the roadmap required to realize the only defense currently visible against the coming of ASI: human-AI convergence.

2. Strategic Rationale

Alignment by architecture: runtime behavior should be driven by explicit operators and state transitions.
Risk mitigation by constraints: capabilities must be tied to testable enforcement, including ethics, quality control, and traceable memory handling.
Deployment realism: model internals unavailable from provider APIs must be represented through proxies and documented accordingly.

3. Phases of Implementation

Phase I: Symbolic Architecture

Implement and execute RSPF operators over a shared runtime state.

Phase II: Persistent State Management

Expand from rolling-window context to persistence mechanisms with weighting, consolidation, and policy controls.

Phase III: Neural Signal Processing (A2A)

Integrate audio I/O with the same ethics, emotional, and operator runtime used in text mode.

Phase IV: Operational Autonomy

Autonomous orchestration remains a future capability and is not part of current production behavior.

Phase V: Embodied Convergence

Embodied or high-fidelity interface integration remains out of current scope.
